Wenonah High School's Lady Dragons' victory parade will be March 23 at 12 p.m. in downtown Birmingham

A parade to celebrate the Wenonah High School girls’ basketball 5A state championship will be held Thursday, March 23  at 12 p.m. in downtown Birmingham.

This is the team's fourth straight win under the leadership of Coach Emanuel Bell. They defeated Charles Henderson High School, 55-52, on Saturday, March 4 at the BJCC during the Alabama High School Athletic Association's basketball finals. In the last few moments of the game, Wenonah came back strong from a 5-point deficit to win the game. The players said they won the game for Bell, who's fighting lung cancer.
