Greetings, Panther Family!

I am ecstatic to introduce myself as your new principal of Putnam Middle School! I am honored to serve in this capacity. You have welcomed me. I truly feel at peace and am excited to be the school leader of this facility!

I am a product of Birmingham City Schools and have worked for our district for twenty-five years. I am also a wife and mother to two daughters.

I have discovered that Putnam is a “well kept secret”. Physically, it is nestled in the Eastwood community and it is quite,unassuming. It is truly a “breath of fresh air”.

This school year, I look forward to adding to the existing programs  and continue to promote a nurturing, safe environment with strong, research-based,instructional practices! I am quite pleased to announce our new site-based testing program, Global Scholars. This program is computer generated and promotes academic readiness and growth for our children. It is replacing ThinkLink. I will give additional information about this program in the future. New programming for the school also will  include Boy Scouts, Putnam Pantherettes Dance Enemble, and an active SGA in addition to other organizations to promote active social engagement for our students! We must motivate our students utilizing a variety of activities and academic initiatives.

I desire assistance from the community in the promotion of our school! Moreover, I will seek the support of our communities,our P.T.A., parents, area businesses and all stakeholders. Again, I thank you for helping to make this transition and I look forward to many, many years of success and rewards!

Lastly, but not least to my wonderful “Panther”students, I am excited to serve as your principal, mentor and supporter!
