Richard Arrington Middle School is named after Birmingham’s first African American Mayor it is located at 2101 Jefferson Ave. in the heart of the West End community. We are an educational institution dedicated to academic excellence. We offer a wide variety in data- driven instruction, Pre-AP courses, a motivated staff of “Highly Qualified” teachers and a thriving athletic program. Here at AMS we believe in educating the whole child, through various programs such as: character education, Band, Student Government Association, National Junior Honor Society and Boys and Girls mentoring. We invite parental participation as well as employ an open-door policy to observation.
