Meet Our Principal / Main Page

Dr. Sherene Carpenter is the proud principal of Martha Gaskins Middle School - Home of the Tenacious Titans, where academic excellence is the highest priority. Dr. Carpenter obtained her B.S. degree from Alabama State University, a Master's degree from the University of Montevallo, and an Education Specialist degree from UAB. In addition, she earned a Ph.D. from UAB. Dr. Carpenter has been an educator for 17 years, serving as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She is honored to serve the community and students of Martha Gaskins Middle School where the mission is "perfection." MGMS will reach that "perfection" through the work of loyal, dedicated, and highly-qualified faculty and staff members who work in partnerships with parents and the community.

The students of MGMS will experience high levels of learning, exposure through fieldtrips, hands-on/real-life lessons, and project-based learning. Everyone lives by the slogan, "Enough is never enough." It is the charge of the MGMS family to ensure that every child not only reaches his or her full potential, but is pushed past their limits to ensure acadmic excellence and growth for all.
