Welcome to the Testing Department!
 
 
 
 
The Testing Department is located at South East Lake Technical Center.

The department responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
  •  Facilitate the AYP process for all Birmingham City Schools
  • Mediate accountability issues with Birmingham City Schools and the ALSDE
  • Examine student assessment results and accountability data
  • Utilize statistical data analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses on a district-wide level.
  • Maintain pertinent district and school data provided by The Alabama State Department of Education and BCS.
  • Use scientifically based research to assist in the development of School Improvement Plans for all schools.
  • Train administrators and teachers in the use of the DRC.
  • Train each site test coordinator and principal on testing procedures and test security.
