High School Principals or Counselors (or their designee) will select the local recipients. The scholarship may be used at any accredited college/university of their choice. A total of $2,000.00 will be awarded each year. In the event only one scholarship is awarded, the recipient will be given $1,500.00. Detailed instructions regarding the application process are on Page 2 of this packet. As well, local recipients also have an opportunity to receive a separate scholarship from our National Association of BSTMC. (Read below)
The NABSTMC is divided into five frontiers that represent different regions of the country. A total of $4,000.00 has been allocated for each frontier. The scholarships will be awarded in 2017 to qualified graduating high school seniors in the following amounts: one (1) $1,000.00 and six (6) $500.00 for a total of seven awards (i.e. one scholarship per recipient). Eligible candidates must have applied and/or been accepted to an accredited college/university, a financial need, and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale). The scholarship will be awarded based on the proposed use, ranking of the candidate in relation to other applicants based on overall qualification, and the quality of the final essay. Additionally, the scholarships will be paid by the NABSTMC to the student or school upon verification of acceptance and enrollment at an accredited college/university.
This scholarship must be turned in directly to your guidance counselor.
